The Shine Dome is uniquely Canberra. Its modernist fittings and furnishings are timeless and elegant, and its flexible spaces airy and retro-futuristic. Located next to the arty New Acton precinct and its hotels, cafés and shops, the Shine Dome is perfectly placed for your next event.

Function and Meeting Facilities

The main auditorium, the Ian Wark Theatre seats 150 on the ground floor, with additional seating for up to 100 on the mezzanine level. The seating on the ground floor is plush armchairs, designed to be as comfortable as the back seat of a Humber, each with an individual timber desk. The seating and desks are ideal for all theatre-style events and with some equipped with power for personal devices.

The Jaeger Room is a versatile space, bathed in natural light. The floor to ceiling windows overlook the moat, the Nishi Building and has glimpses of Lake Burley Griffin. This room is ideal for break-out spaces, conference catering, cocktail functions, workshops, meetings, lunches, dinners, weddings and more.

The Becker Room is a grand boardroom . The space can be used for boardroom meetings, interview panels, lunches and dinners.

The Dorothy Hill Room is a new space that is easily transformed to the setup of your choice. This can be the perfect breakout space for your conference. With the option to utilise our foyer this is a surprisingly adaptable space.

The Fenner Room is an intimate meeting room that can be set as numerous configurations based on requirements. The Fenner Room features historical artefacts that give the room a warm and inviting ambience.

All of The Shine Domes spaces feature state of the art audiovisual technology including the ability to interlink any of the spaces and video conferencing facilities are also available. The Ian Wark Theatre is suitably equipped for various types of presentations from a corporate meeting or presentation through to an educational lecture.
