The National Arboretum, Canberra’s newest attraction, is located just six kilometres from the centre of Canberra. It is home to 250 hectares of forests with panoramic views over the Capital’s Parliamentary Triangle, Lake Burley Griffin and the central valley of the ACT.
The Arboretum was part of Walter Burley and Marion Mahoney Griffin’s vision for a garden city. It is Canberra’s brilliant new living museum and attraction, entertainment facility and events venue offering a unique visitor experience and five star facilities for gala dinners, weddings and corporate events.
With its spectacular views over the rising green forests and Lake Burley Griffin, the Village Centre will make a grand impression. The Village Centre provides an elegant, light-filled space for cocktail receptions, formal dinners, functions and ceremonies. This main building of the Arboretum is available from 4.00pm each day for events catering to approximately 500 seated guests.
The beautiful Pavilion is ideal for more intimate events. It is located near the Village Centre and gives guests a sweeping view of the city and beyond. This space provides a unique facility for wedding ceremonies, meetings and cocktail functions for approximately 120 guests.
The Amphitheatre has the capacity to hold outdoor events for over 4000 people. It will be one of Canberra’s most popular venues for large-scale festivals and concerts.
The Arboretum’s u-shaped outdoor Events Terrace commands expansive views across the amphitheatre and central valley to Canberra city. Enquire about this space for official ceremonies and large gatherings.
